Skydiving the Great Blue Hole: the Price, the Four-Person Minimum and the Flight
Verified on 25 September 2026, on Skydive Belize’s own site, four Internet Archive copies of that site (from 2015, 2017, 2024 and 2025), and three dated press and magazine reports.
A tandem skydive into the Great Blue Hole costs US$10,000 per person, and it is sold only as a package: “Four participants minimum,” so the smallest group that can book spends US$40,000 between them (our arithmetic: 4 × US$10,000). That price comes from one operator’s page — Skydive Belize’s — because it is the only current seller we found; the same site says “There is no full time DZ in Belize” (DZ is a drop zone), and it runs these jumps “a few times per year”, booked “months in advance”.
What the data says: this is a rare, week-long, group-only product priced by a single seller — the current page offers no jump sold on its own.
What the US$10,000 package includes
Skydive Belize’s page, read on 25 September 2026, lists the package as:

The page does not say whether international airfare is included, and we have not assumed it is. It also does not name the Belize Audubon Society’s Blue Hole park fee as a line item — the package “covers the permit to skydive and SCUBA or snorkel at the Blue Hole”, which is not the same as naming the fee.
The jump day, as the operator describes it
- Breakfast and a safety briefing at the Blue Water Grill in San Pedro, then “we walk across the street to the San Pedro Airport”.
- “the 30 minute flight 55 miles out to sea” in “an aircraft specifically designed for skydiving”.
- “After a 45 second freefall”, the parachute opens and you land “in the center of the Blue Hole”. The jump “requires a water landing”, and the operator provides “a retrieval boat with rescue divers”.
- After landing: a SCUBA dive or snorkel in the Blue Hole, then the dive boat “motors a few miles to another dive site by Half Moon Caye”, lunch on Half Moon Caye with “the world famous red footed Booby Birds” and an island tour, and the boat back to San Pedro.
The current page gives no exit altitude — see the conflicts below.
The boat half of that day is the same Blue Hole and Half Moon Caye run that San Pedro dive shops sell on its own; our Great Blue Hole page puts that dive day at US$360.63–371.88 all-in, per person, worked from three operators’ own rate pages.
Who runs it
Enquiries go to Rich Grimm, who, in the operator’s words, “was the original organizer of Blue Hole jumps and has been leading groups to skydive into the Blue Hole since 2005”. The page names its partners as the SunBreeze Hotel in San Pedro, Tropic Air, the Amigos del Mar dive centre and the Belize Audubon Society, which it calls the “caretakers of the Blue Hole”.
It also says it is “Recognized by the Belize Department of Civil Aviation and the Belize Parachute and Skydive Association”. That is the operator’s own statement: we did not find a Civil Aviation or Belize Audubon Society page that mentions Blue Hole skydiving.
San Pedro’s local paper, Ambergris Today, reported the jumps on 26 February 2026, crediting Tsunami Skydivers, “who have been bringing skydivers to Belize since 2005, with over 1,300 people over the years”, and noting “this year’s jumps mirroring last year’s timing” — that is, February in both 2025 and 2026. It gives no exact dates and no price. The contact address that skydivebelize.com displays is a Tsunami Skydivers one.
What it cost in 2017 — a different product
The Internet Archive’s copy of skydivebelize.com from 12 April 2017 sold a “SPECIAL BLUE HOLE TANDEM SKYDIVE $6,000”, which “includes everything for your safety and the SCUBA package. It is the same price if you snorkel.” That was a jump and a dive, not a week’s package with hotel and domestic flights, so the US$4,000 gap to today’s US$10,000 (our arithmetic) is not a like-for-like price rise. The same 2017 page also sold a tandem over Ambergris Caye at US$299; the current page does not.
The 2017 page carried two rules — “You must be in good physical condition and under 230lbs. You must be over 18 years old.” — that do not appear on the current page. We are reporting them as 2017 rules, not as today’s.
Where the operator’s own figures have changed

We have not picked between them. The current page is the operator’s latest word on the flight and distance; on altitude it says nothing.
If you are already a licensed skydiver
The tandem package is not the only way in. Skydive Belize says: “If you are a licensed skydiver and would like to jump the Blue Hole, there are boogies yearly that host the jumps,” with announcements posted in a Facebook group. We did not open that group, and we found no published boogie price.
Two first-hand accounts describe these licensed-jumper events, and both are about boogies, not the tandem package:
- Skydivemag, 27 March 2025 (Casey Pruett, on the 20-year-anniversary jump): an exit “at 14,000 feet”; Amigos del Mar sending a scuba boat and a recovery boat “at 5 am to make the 3-hour boat ride out to the Blue Hole”; jumpers meeting at 7 am for breakfast and a final briefing, after a mandatory jump briefing the day before.
- The US Parachute Association’s Parachutist, May 2018 issue: a 2018 boogie that “treated 127 participants” to four days of water landings in the Blue Hole. Those are 2018 figures, not a current schedule.
What the operator doesn’t publish
On Skydive Belize’s site, read on 25 September 2026:
- Any 2026–27 jump dates. The only dated evidence we found is the local press placing jumps in February 2025 and February 2026.
- A price for the jump alone, without the seven-night package.
- Current age and weight limits. Only the 2017 version of the page gives them.
- Whether the Blue Hole park fee is inside the package as a named item.
- Deposit, payment and weather-cancellation terms.
- The licensed-jumper boogie’s price and dates — these go out through the Facebook group only. The domain tsunamiskydivers.com returned an empty page, last modified 30 June 2016.
We also found no second seller in the sources we read on 25 September 2026.
How we researched this
Scope: this page reports source research, not a jump. The price, minimum group, inclusions, flight, freefall, jump-day itinerary, frequency, partners and the recognition claim were read from skydivebelize.com’s own page on 25 September 2026, saved in full; the price sentence is in the page’s own HTML, with no script altering it. The Internet Archive’s copies of that page from 2 May 2024 and 25 September 2025 are byte-identical to it. The 2017 price, the US$299 tandem and the 2017 age and weight rules come from the Internet Archive’s 12 April 2017 copy; the 10,000-foot figure from its 9 February 2015 copy. The February timing and the 1,300-jumper figure come from Ambergris Today; the licensed-jumper details from Skydivemag and USPA’s Parachutist, each attributed where it appears. Figures labelled our arithmetic are calculated by us — the four-person total and the 2017-to-now difference. Everything else is reproduced as its named source published it.
