Diving from San Pedro, Ambergris Caye: What a Fun Dive Costs, Shop by Shop

Verified on 25 September 2026, on the rate pages of six San Pedro dive shops, the Hol Chan Marine Reserve’s own ticket store and the Belize Audubon Society’s park-fee sheet.

A two-tank reef dive from San Pedro costs US$85 to US$100 before tax at the four shops with a current price: US$85 at Belize Diving Adventures, US$90 at Amigos del Mar, from US$99 at Ambergris Divers and US$100 at Belize Pro Dive Center. Every shop adds the 12.5% General Sales Tax, which makes it US$95.63 to US$112.50 (our arithmetic; Belize Pro Dive Center prints its US$112.50 total itself), and gear is extra: Amigos del Mar, Ambergris Divers and Belize Pro Dive Center say so on their trip pages, and Belize Diving Adventures on its packages. A one-tank dive runs US$50 to US$65 before tax; the atoll days are US$225 to US$295 before tax and park fees.

The local reef dive is the cheap, well-published part and the prices sit close together. The park fees are where the shops’ own pages disagree — on the same trip, sometimes on the same page.

Every published fun-dive price, shop by shop

Prices per diver in US dollars, before the 12.5% tax, as each shop’s own page showed them on 25 September 2026. A “+” figure is a park fee the shop adds, payable in cash where the shop says so.

Amigos del Mar’s single-tank trips are both at Hol Chan: the day dive with the Shark Ray Alley snorkel, and the night dive. Its home page also advertises “Local Diving” “Starting at $60”, a price none of its listed dive trips carries. Ramon’s Village publishes its atoll days and not its local dives: “Dive trips require a minimum of two divers or you can pay an additional fee”, with departures at 9:00 am, 11:30 am and 2:00 pm, and no price.

Ecologic Divers’ figures are from a site that says “Copyright 2017 by Ecologic Divers Limited”. Its FAQ still names Continental among the airlines. We print its prices because the page is live, but they are the one column here we would not plan around: its “$20 park fee” for Hol Chan is not the reserve’s own figure (see below).

With the 12.5% tax, before gear

Our arithmetic: each shop’s own price times 1.125, rounded to the cent.

• One tank, with tax: US$56.25 at Belize Diving Adventures, US$67.50 at Belize Pro Dive Center — US$82.50 once its stated US$15 park fee is added — and US$73.13 at Ambergris Divers (our arithmetic). Ecologic’s, from its 2017 site, would be US$61.88.
• Hol Chan dive and Shark Ray Alley snorkel, all in (price plus tax plus the US$15 fee): US$93.75 at Belize Diving Adventures and US$99.38 at Amigos del Mar (our arithmetic), and US$99.38 printed by Belize Pro Dive Center as “$75.00 USD / 12.5% General Sales Tax $9.38 USD / Marine Park Fee $15.00 USD cash”. Ambergris Divers comes to US$110.63 only if the US$15 applies, which its page does not say.
• Turneffe, all in: US$263.13 on Ramon’s Northern Turneffe, US$274.38 at Amigos del Mar with a US$10 fee or US$279.38 with US$15, US$291.25 at Belize Diving Adventures, and US$331.25 on Ramon’s Elbow & Calabash Caye trip with its US$50 fee (our arithmetic). Belize Pro Dive Center’s comes to US$291.25 if its packages page’s US$10 fee applies.
• Blue Hole, all in: US$360.63 at Amigos del Mar, Belize Pro Dive Center and Ramon’s, and US$371.88 at Belize Diving Adventures — Belize Pro Dive Center prints its US$360.63 itself. The requirements and the snorkel option are on our Great Blue Hole page.

The park fees, and where the shops disagree

Hol Chan: US$15 is the reserve’s own figure. The Hol Chan Marine Reserve’s online day pass is BZ$30 (US$15) for a non-Belizean aged 13 and over, BZ$5 for a Belizean and free at 12 and under, and Amigos del Mar, Belize Pro Dive Center and Belize Diving Adventures all add US$15. Two pages say otherwise: Ecologic’s 2017 site includes “a $20 park fee”, and the Notes on Amigos del Mar’s own night-dive page say “Hol Chan Marine Reserve entrance fee is US$10 or BZ$20 per person” while the rate table above them says US$15. Great Blue Hole: US$40, two fees combined. The Belize Audubon Society’s park-fee sheet, in Belize dollars, sets the Blue Hole Natural Monument at BZ$60 and Half Moon Caye at BZ$20 for non-residents — BZ$80, or US$40 at the 2:1 peg (our conversion). Amigos del Mar says it “must be brought in cash to be paid on the island of Half Moon Caye”.

Turneffe: three different figures, and no official one we could read.

The Belize Fisheries Department’s Turneffe Atoll Marine Reserve page loaded and gave no fee; turneffeatollmarinereserve.org served a browser-check page instead of content; the Turneffe Atoll Trust’s home page (turneffeatoll.org) gave no fee. Ask the shop you book what it will collect.

Other conflicts on the shops’ own pages

• Amigos del Mar’s three-tank dive: US$125.00 in the trip page’s rate table, “$120 per person” on its home-page tile. Our diving certification costs page uses the trip page’s US$125.
• Amigos del Mar’s night dive: the body says “Mon to Sat (excluding holidays)”, the Notes say “Available Daily”; the same page lists “Complete Diving Equipement” as included and “Equipment Rental” as not included.
• Ambergris Divers’ gear: its rental page prices a “BCD, Regulator, Wetsuit, Mask/Fins” package at US$25 without saying per day or per dive, while the difference between its with-gear and without-gear prices is US$25 on the one-tank and Hol Chan trips, US$26 on the two-tank, US$15 on the three-tank and US$34 on the night dive (our arithmetic).

What each trip involves

• Amigos del Mar two-tank: 9:00 am (pick-up 8:00 am), about 3 hours, a 5–10 minute boat ride, 4 guests to confirm. Included: tanks, weights, licensed guides, fruit, water, coffee and tea. Not included: equipment rental, the 12.5% tax, gratuities, and a fuel surcharge in some pick-up areas. Its three-tank runs 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
• Belize Pro Dive Center two-tank: check in 8:30 AM, depart 9:00 AM, back about 12:30 PM; an afternoon trip (check in 1:30 PM, depart 2:00 PM, back about 5:15 PM) needs 4 divers; “maximum ratio is six divers per Divemaster”.
• Ambergris Divers one-tank: 9 am and 11 am, with 2 pm needing 4 people; “Check-in by :45mins prior to trip departure time”.
• Amigos del Mar night dive: 6:00 pm at Hol Chan, about 90 minutes, a 15-minute boat ride, 4 guests to confirm.
• Turneffe days: Amigos del Mar 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a 1.5-hour boat ride and “a minimum of 10 divers to confirm”, breakfast and lunch included; Belize Pro Dive Center 10 to 16 people, 6 am departure, about 2 hours to the atoll and back about 4 pm, gear and tax not included; Ramon’s Northern Turneffe needs 8 divers, 6:45 AM to about 3:30 PM.
• Blue Hole days: Belize Pro Dive Center checks in at 5:30 AM, returns about 4:30 PM, needs 10 guests and sets a minimum age of 15 for the Blue Hole dive; Amigos del Mar asks for “a recent logged dive within 6 months and at a minimum depth of 80ft”.

Gear, nitrox and multi-day packages

• Gear: Belize Pro Dive Center’s full set is US$33.75 a day including tax, or US$20 plus tax a day with a package. Ambergris Divers lists BCD US$10, regulator US$10, shortie wetsuit US$9, dive light US$15 and computer US$15, with the US$25 package above. Amigos del Mar lists gear as not included and prints no price on any page we read.
• Nitrox: Belize Pro Dive Center, “a package rate of $12 USD plus Tax ($13.50 USD per tank”.
• Belize Pro Dive Center packages, two tanks a day: 3 days US$275, 4 days US$360, 5 days US$425, 6 days US$490, 7 days US$560; with a Blue Hole day, from US$460 (2 local days) to US$670 (5 local days). They exclude tax, gear and park fees; “DISCOUNTED Dive Packages are not available from Nov 20th - Jan 4th!”; “Packages are non refundable and non transferable”. Five days works out at US$85 a day against the US$100 single-day rate (our arithmetic).
• Belize Diving Adventures packages: 3 days US$216.75, 4 days US$289.00, 5 days US$361.25 per person; 2 local days plus the Blue Hole US$429.50, 4 local days plus the Blue Hole US$574.00; gear and park fees not included, 12.5% tax on top. Five days is US$72.25 a day against its US$85 single day (our arithmetic).
• Belize Diving Adventures cancellation: a 20% deposit confirms; 30 days’ notice gets a full refund minus a 5% admin fee, 14 days’ notice 50% minus the 5%, and under 14 days is non-refundable.

What the shops don’t publish

• Amigos del Mar’s gear-rental price and its dive packages — its package links led to a “coming” page.
• Ramon’s Village local reef dive prices.
• Ambergris Divers’ Turneffe and Blue Hole day prices. Its Turneffe page shows no price, and its Blue Hole address carries a “3-Trip Dive Package” — two reef days plus the Blue Hole — “From $499”.
• Whether Ambergris Divers’ Hol Chan and night-dive prices include the marine park fee, and whether its gear prices are per day or per dive.
• A standalone night-dive price from Belize Pro Dive Center — only the package add-on.
• A Turneffe Atoll Marine Reserve fee from the body that manages it, on any page we could read.

What we did not check

These are our limits, not the shops’: we read prices and did not book or dive; chuckandrobbies.com and islanddiversbelize.com did not resolve on 25 September 2026, so Chuck & Robbie’s and Island Divers are not here; and we did not rank the shops.

How we researched this

Scope: this page reports source research, not a dive. Every price, time, minimum and inclusion is from that shop’s own trip, rate, package or policy page, read on 25 September 2026. Belize Diving Adventures’ and Ecologic Divers’ pages refused a plain download (HTTP 406) and were read in an ordinary browser with default settings; Ambergris Divers’ prices sit in a booking widget and are quoted as that widget displayed them. The Hol Chan day pass is from the reserve’s own store, and the Blue Hole and Half Moon Caye fees from the Belize Audubon Society’s fee sheet, an image re-read on 25 September 2026.

Figures labelled our arithmetic or our conversion are calculated by us from the sourced figures — tax-inclusive totals, per-day package rates, gear differences and the peg conversion. Everything else is reproduced as its named source published it.
